Skip it if you need delays shorter than 0.55 s or longer than 1.8 s, or if you don't want the upkeep of a tape transport: tape life is rated at more than 300 hours and requires Roland RT-1L replacement cartridges and periodic head cleaning.
Watchouts
The tape is a consumable: rated life is over 300 hours, so on a vintage unit verify the condition of the RT-1L cartridge and heads, and factor in replacement cartridges and head cleaner. Footswitch control is not built in — remote on/off of echo, chorus, and sound-on-sound needs the optional FS-1/FS-2/FS-3 footswitches. At 10.5 kg and 418 x 190 x 330 mm it needs real desk or rack-shelf space and mains power.
